Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom
Trees Indiana is proud to be developing the first Certified Nature Explore Classroom in Indiana. The location site will be Cedar Canyon Elementary School in Fort Wayne and will serve students from northeast Indiana. It will also serve as a field trip location for our TreeKeepers.
Research shows that children benefit greatly from daily connections with the natural world. And these benefits have a lasting impact, especially when positive outdoor experiences come at an early age.
The Arbor Day Foundation and Dimensions Educational Research Foundation have developed the Nature
Explore program. Based on years of Dimensions’ research and field testing, this Nature Explore classroom will be used
to help children make closer connections to nature and develop a lifelong sense of wonder.
